Hu has practiced law for more than 35 years, primarily in family and general civil litigation. He attended law school at the University of Alberta, worked for Special Prosecutions as a summer student and then articled to the late Fraser Goddard at Parlee Irving and then under Keith Ritter, (recently retired from the Court of Appeal) and George Akers. In 1994 he began his own legal practice with friends from law school and,  in 2004, began a solo practice from a heritage building in Strathcona, now in association with three other lawyers. Hu brings to the table extensive trial experience including appellate work and before administrative tribunals.

Hu has been a member of the Civil Trial Lawyers’ Association and Canadian Bar Association for more than a quarter century and has written for the Barrister publication and materials for the CBA family law section.
